PARIVRIDDHI is an official annual publication of New Horizon College Marathalli, Bangalore. The journal is multidisciplinary in nature and endeavours to promote research in different functional areas of management and other disciplines along with the issues related to humanities, computer science, economy, industry and environment. The journal publishes original research papers besides student articles, abstracts of doctoral dissertations and major research projects, case studies, book reviews, bibliography on individual management topics.

Student Research Intiatives
Nidhish R of B.Com., has presented a research paper in the National Level IFIM Students Conference “Mind Power & Channelizing Energy” Organized by Department of Psychology & NSS Unit in association with IQAC in 2018.
Sidhanth Suvarna of V B.Com has received the Second Best Paper Award for his paper entitled “Impact of Foreign Policy on EXIM Trade” in the National Level Students’ Seminar on Impact of Foreign Policy on Indian Economy held at St. Francis De Sales College on September 20, 2016.
The other participants from the college were- Meghna Mohanty and Abhishek Sarkar of V B.Com.
Suphiya Tamanna Khan & Rakshitha P has presented a paper titled “Employee Engagement & Retentions” in the Two-Day National Conference on “Shifting Tides in Global Economic Scenario: Strategies for Business Sustainability” on 25th & 26th September 2018 at Indian Academy Degree College.

Code of Ethics
“Researchers in the educational field have ethical obligations with regard to the publication and dissemination of the results of research. Researchers have a duty to make publicly available the results of their research on any related human subjects and are accountable for the completeness and accuracy of their reports. All parties should adhere to accepted guidelines for ethical reporting. Negative and inconclusive as well as positive results must be published or otherwise made publicly available. Reports of research not in accordance with the principles of this Declaration should not be accepted for publication.” In this regard, New Horizon College, has a high degree of appreciation towards genuine researchers and their research work. Therefore the following points intends to give an insight of the ethical code of conduct for the faculty members of the Institution involved in research.
Integrity coupled with accountability and responsibility in conducting academic research form the cornerstone of any academic enterprise and violations of widely-recognized academic research standards represent serious offences to the entire academic community at the Institute and are considered injurious for its credibility and authority as an institution like ours that promotes excellence in academics.
Misconduct in academic research implies (and is not limited to) fabrication, falsification, plagiarism or deception in proposing, carrying out or reporting results of research and deliberate, dangerous or negligent deviations from accepted practice in carrying out research. It includes failure to follow an agreed protocol if and when this failure results in reasonable risk or harm to persons, the environment, and when it facilitates misconduct in research by allusion in, or concealment of, such actions by others. Misconduct also includes any plan or attempt to do any of these things. It does not include honest error or honest differences in interpretation or judgment in evaluating research methods or results, or misconduct unrelated to research processes. Misconduct includes (and is not limited to) the following acts:
Plagiarism
The deliberate copying of ideas, text, data or other work (or any combination thereof) without due permission and acknowledgement.
Abuse of Intellectual Property Rights
Failure to observe legal norms regarding copyright and the moral rights of authors.
Piracy
The deliberate exploitation of ideas from others without proper acknowledgement.
Abuse of Research Resources
Failure to observe the terms and conditions of institutionally licensed research resources.
Misinterpretation
The deliberate attempt to represent falsely or unfairly the ideas or work of others, whether or not for personal gain or enhancement.
Professorial misconduct
Professorial acts that are arbitrary, biased or exploitative.
Personation
The situation where someone other than the person who has submitted any academic work has prepared (parts of ) the work.
Denying access to information or material
To deny others access arbitrarily to scholarly resources or to deliberately and groundlessly impede their progress.
Fabrication and Fraud
The falsification or invention of qualifications, data, information or citations in any formal academic exercise.
Sabotage
Acting to prevent others from completing their work. This includes stealing or cutting pages out of library books or otherwise damaging them; or willfully disrupting the experiments of others; or endangering institutional access to licensed research resources by willfully failing to observe their terms and conditions.
Misconduct in formal examinations
Includes having access, or attempting to gain access during an examination, to any books, memoranda, notes, unauthorized electronic devices or any other material, except such as may have been supplied by the invigilator or authorized by the Academic Department. It also includes aiding or attempting to aid another candidate or obtaining or attempting to obtain aid from another candidate or any other communication and conversations that could have an impact on the examination results.
ED Cell
Objectives of ED Cell
The main objective of the Entrepreneurship Development cell is to equip and strengthen skill sets of a budding entrepreneur and increase the supply of entrepreneurs to aid in rapid industrial development. The institution will act as an incubation centre by fostering creativity and by germinating the seeds of entrepreneurship in students who might be averse to the field otherwise.

IPR
Intellectual property (IP) refers to various distinct types of creations of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, and symbols, names, images, and designs used in commerce; for which a set of exclusive rights like copyrights, trademarks, patents, industrial design rights and trade secrets are recognized under the corresponding fields of law. Intellectual Property Rights are exclusive legal rights over creations of the mind. IPR give the proprietor rights to exploit intellectual creation of the mind. IPRs are essential to fostering innovation to encourage inventiveness in various areas of research and development. It contributes to ensure profitability and better service to the society.
It is necessary to protect the Intellectual property in order to enable organizations to earn recognition or financial benefits. The rationale for this IPR lies in the need to create awareness about the importance of IPRs as a marketable financial asset and economic tool among the researchers, faculty and students of the College. Intellectual property Rights: means the rights derived from the IP e.g. Patents, registered designs, copyright etc.
Functions
- To encourage creative and innovative research leading to the generation of new knowledge, ideas and innovative thoughts.
- To provide assistance to faculty members and students in assessing the patentability and potential of their inventions.
- To train faculty members and students about provisional patent filing procedures in India as well as the procedure for filing the Applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty.
- To make faculty members, staff and students familiar with Patent filing forms (Form- 1,2 & 5).
- To make faculty members and students aware about the various requirements/data to be provided for filling of such forms.
