YOGA AND MEDITATION
Yoga has a lot of benefits for everyone. Through the practice of yoga, one can become more aware of one’s emotional, mental, and physical health. Yoga techniques date back to at least the 5th century, and through a lot of research, it has been proved that its benefits for students and youngsters are outstanding. Yoga includes physical poses called asana, breathing techniques and meditation. It has been suggested that practising yoga sessions two or three times per week for at least 20 minutes per session can lead to some considerable positive effects. We in New Horizon decided to provide our students with yoga facility for the improvement of their health and to help build their concentration levels. Our yoga classes are scheduled at 7:50-8:50 am every Saturdays. During this one hour once a week, students are given a helping hand to cope healthy strategies and resilience among teens. The yoga instructor, Divyabharathi, is an ex-student of New Horizon College. She instructs the students and spread awareness of yoga and meditation.
