Introduction:
The Scribe Writing for Students with Disabilities event, organized by Eka Education, held in June, was a significant step towards inclusivity and accessibility in education. This initiative aimed to provide support and resources to individuals with disabilities, ensuring they have equal opportunities to excel academically.
Event Overview:
The event comprised two main components:
Scribe Writing for Students with Disabilities: This session focused on training volunteers to act as scribes for students with disabilities during examinations. The training covered best practices, etiquette, and techniques for effective scribing. Sign Language Interpretation for Students with Disabilities: A dedicated session was conducted to train interpreters in sign language, enabling them to facilitate communication between students with hearing impairments and educators.
Highlights:
The event garnered a positive response from volunteers, showcasing their eagerness to contribute towards creating an inclusive learning environment. The scribe writing training session provided volunteers with practical skills and knowledge, preparing them to assist students with disabilities during exams.
The sign language interpretation training was met with enthusiasm, as volunteers recognized the importance of effective communication for students with hearing impairments.
