About The Event:
Tarang, an annual cultural festival, celebrates the diverse talents of students across various disciplines. This year, the festival was a grand showcase of musical, dance, and artistic talents, drawing participants.
Among the numerous events, the Rhythmic Vocals competition stood out as a highlight, attracting vocalists who demonstrated their skills in a competitive yet celebratory atmosphere. Tarang, an annual cultural extravaganza, celebrates the vibrant and diverse talents of students. Among the multitude of events, the Rhythmic Vocals competition drew significant attention for its emphasis on vocal performance integrated with rhythmic innovation. This event provided a platform for vocalists to exhibit their talents in blending rhythm and melody, creating a unique auditory experience.
Purpose and Objectives: The Rhythmic Vocals competition aims to:
- Encourage the exploration of rhythmic patterns in vocal performance.
- Promote creativity and innovation in musical interpretation.
- Provide a platform for young vocalists to showcase their talent.
- Enhance the appreciation of diverse musical genres and styles.

Competition Structure: The Rhythmic Vocals competition was structured as Solo singing competition with two genres western and Indian to test the vocal strength and melodic range
- Format: Solo performance.
- Duration: 3-1 minutes per participant.
- Judging Criteria: Vocal quality, rhythm, originality, and stage presence.
JUDGE:The whole competition was judged by ROHIT OSCAR known for his beatboxing
- Judging Criteria:
- Vocal Quality: Pitch, tone, and clarity.
- Rhythm: Use of rhythmic elements and timing.
- Originality: Unique interpretation and creativity.
- Stage Presence: Confidence and audience engagement.
Participants: Total of 17 participants took part in the competition. A diverse array of participants took part, showcasing various musical styles including classical, pop, jazz, blues, and fusion. Each performance was unique, reflecting the participants’ personal interpretation ,creativity.

The event successfully fostered a deeper appreciation for the art of rhythmic vocals and set a high standard for future competitions.The Rhythmic Vocals competition was introduced to highlight the importance of rhythm in vocal performance, which is often overshadowed by melody. We wanted to create a space where vocalists could experiment with rhythmic patterns and showcase their technical skills. The response has been incredible, with participants bringing fresh and innovative approaches to their performances.Rhythmic Vocals competition, where the energy in the seminar hall was electric. Another memorable moment was the flash mob during the opening ceremony, which took everyone by surprise and set the tone for the festival. Seeing the smiles and hearing the cheers from the crowd made all the hard work worthwhile.
Tarang continues to be a beacon of cultural expression and community spirit at New Horizon college of management With its rich history and commitment to innovation, the festival not only entertains but also inspires. The insights from the organizing team highlight the dedication and creativity that go into making Tarang a success each year.
