CONFERENCE AND WORKSHOP

The departments of Commerce, Management and Computer Application of New Horizon College, Marathalli successfully organized student workshop over a period of two days under the banner of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The workshop was conducted with the objective of rendering valuable information relating to academics and career growth for student from different colleges in Bangalore.

The first day of the workshop highlighted on the topic DERIVATIVES DEMYSTIFIED presented by the department of B.COM and BBA. The resource person was Dr.Sairam, a renowned commerce and management consultant. He highlighted on the importance of the in depth knowledge of the derivatives world for students aspiring a career in finance, investment bank, stock exchange and so on. There were interactive sessions where students got real life examples of derivative trading.

The second day of the workshop focused on ANDROID presented by the department of Computer Application. The resource person was Mr. Gaurab Kumar, an established academician with specialized knowledge in Android. Inquisitive student participants interacted with the resource person to gain knowledge on app development and other applications of android.

There was immense response from students of various colleges and a total of 200 students participated from 17 different colleges spread over the period of two days of the event. The workshop was thoroughly conducted by student coordinators, ably guided by faculty members, which gave them an opportunity to get hands on experience of conducting such an event at an inter college level. The Principal, Dr. R. Bodhisatvan congratulated the faculty coordinator Shilpa Joshi and her team, The IQAC coordinator Ms. Sayantani Banerjee and the student coordinators for the successful conduction of the workshop.
