About the Event:

The Cartoon Drawing Competition, organized by the Human Rights Protection Cell in association with IQAC, was held on 08 November 2024 at the Quadrangle, Amar Hemu Kalani Block. The event aimed to encourage creativity and raise awareness about Human Rights issues and the struggle to seek justice worldwide. The competition provided a platform for participants to express their thoughts visually and creatively through cartoons while developing their artistic skills. The event was open to students from all the courses, including BCA, BBA and BCom. The following sub-themes were given:

1. The right to work and education.
2. Children and Women’s Rights
3. Equality and Non-Discrimination.
4. The right to life and liberty.
5. Freedom of expression.
6. Dignity, freedom and justice for all.
7. Peace and Security.
8. Freedom from slavery and torture

A total of 10 teams, each comprising a minimum of 2 -3 participants, took part. Participants were given an hour to complete their cartoons using materials such as chart paper, paints, pencil and pen, and line drawings.

The panel of judges, consisting of Ms. Suchithra Devi Prasad and Ms. Ashwini N K, evaluated the cartoon based on its creativity, relevance to the theme, confidence in communication, presentation, and originality.
