About the Event:

Anti Sexual Harassment Cell organized an Essay Writing Competition on the topic Respecting Boundaries in Digital Spaces for all BBA., B. Com, and B.CA students on 25.11.2024 between 12:30 – 1:30 Pm at room no:302, Shaheed Hemu Kalani Block.

This event emphasised the importance of respecting boundaries in digital spaces, fostering a deeper understanding of online ethics, and encouraging participants to explore the far-reaching impact of digital interactions on personal and societal well-being. The essay writing competition, organised by the Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell, sought to highlight the rising challenges of cyberbullying, digital consent, and privacy violations. The event underscored the institution’s dedication to promoting a safe and respectful online environment by providing a platform for thoughtful reflection. Through creative expression and critical analysis, participants were empowered to articulate their perspectives, contributing to a broader dialogue about digital responsibility and ethical conduct in the virtual world.

A diverse group of 22 participants actively contributed their voices to this crucial conversation, adding depth and perspective to the discourse.

A heartfelt acknowledgement goes to our esteemed judge, Ms. Purva Palliwal, Assistant Professor in the English Department, for her valuable contributions to the success of the essay writing competition. She evaluated the essays based on depth of understanding of the topic, creativity and originality of ideas, structure, language, and adherence to the theme.

Objectives:

The essay writing competition was conceived to address the increasing relevance of maintaining respect and ethical behaviour in digital interactions. In a world where digital spaces are integral to personal and professional lives, the event aimed to:

  1. Foster awareness about the importance of respecting boundaries online.
  2. Encourage ethical practices in virtual communication.
  3. Provide a platform for students to express their thoughts on cyber safety, privacy, and mutual respect in online environments.
  4. Reinforce the role of education in shaping responsible digital citizens.

  3. Third Place: Namburi Sai Divya (I BCA-D)

 

The competition successfully provided a platform for students to express their understanding and perspectives on a crucial contemporary issue.
