About The Event:
As the sun dipped below the horizon on the 21st of June 2023, New Horizon College became a sanctuary of musical enlightenment, embracing the timeless beauty of classical music on the occasion of World Music Day. The Music Club ALAAP, dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of melodious traditions, orchestrated a magnificent concert that would resonate in the hearts and souls of all fortunate enough to be in attendance.
The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as the audience gathered, their spirits lifted in anticipation of the auditory voyage that awaited them. The stage was bathed in soft, ethereal lighting, setting the perfect ambiance for an evening of classical enchantment.
The concert opened with the arrival of Smt. Poornima Prasad, a celebrated maestro on the Veena. She strode onto the stage with the grace and poise of a true artist, her presence commanding immediate respect. As she delicately plucked the strings of her Veena, the auditorium was transformed into a realm of tranquility and deep introspection. Smt. Poornima Prasad’s performance was a testament to the profound legacy of classical music, and her repertoire included:

Following this awe-inspiring performance, the stage was graced by the talented Ms. S Chaitra, a virtuoso on the Sitar. Her entrance was met with eager anticipation, and she did not disappoint. With unparalleled skill and a deep connection to her instrument, Ms. S Chaitra took the audience on a sonic adventure through classical compositions that spanned a wide range of emotions:
