Introduction:

On April 15, 2024, a visit was organized to Karunashraya Hospice Trust in Bangalore, India organized by The Elite Horizonte’s (LEO CLUB). The visit was aimed at providing support and companionship to cancer patients residing at the hospice.

Objective:

The primary objective of the visit was to offer emotional support, engage in interactive activities, and provide entertainment to uplift the spirits of the patients.

Activities:

1. Service Activities:

Volunteers engaged in various service activities,

including:
– Assisting patients with daily tasks such as meal assistance, mobility support, and companionship.
– Providing emotional support through conversations, listening to patients’ stories, and offering comfort.

2. Entertainment Program :

An entertainment program was organized by the volunteers,

including:

– Music performances: Volunteers played musical instruments and sang songs to entertain the patients.
– Dance performances: Energetic dance performances were organized to engage the patients and create a joyful atmosphere.
– Skits and performances: Short skits and performances were presented to provide laughter and amusement to the patients and staff.

3. Interaction and Engagement :

Volunteers interacted with the patients, engaging in conversations, playing games, and sharing stories. The
interactions aimed to create a sense of community and companionship among the patients and volunteers.

Impact:

1. Positive Impact on Patients : The visit had a positive impact on the patients, providing them with moments of joy, laughter, and companionship. The interaction with volunteers helped alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation among the patients.
