Introduction:

A discussion on Public Transport was organized by nine organizations of Bengaluru which include the Council for Active Mobility, Bangalore Apartment Federation, Greenpeace, Hasiru Dala, Slum Dwellers Federation, Citizens for Sankey, APSA, Sangama and Purpose. The panel will comprise citizens representing different communities in the city including the garment worker community, the waste picker community, the transgender community, the middle-class apartment and neighbourhood residents, college students and mobility experts and government officials from the Ministry of Transport, Departments of BBMP, DULT, Traffic Police, BMTC. Through the discussions and conversations, we wish to build a collective citizens’ voice in favour and further development of Bus and Public Transport in Bengaluru.

Meeting Agenda:

Upcoming Events and Workshops: The agenda included an overview of upcoming events and workshops planned by the Press Club. This section allowed for brainstorming and refining ideas to ensure each event is insightful and engaging.

Guest Speaker Proposal: Members proposed potential guest speakers from various fields of journalism and media. These proposals were discussed and prioritized based on relevance and availability.

Publications Update: The editorial team provided an update on the progress of current publications, highlighting any challenges and seeking input from members for improvement.

The meeting saw active participation from club members, demonstrating their dedication to the field of journalism and media. The discussion on upcoming events sparked creative ideas and collaborations, setting the stage for a series of engaging activities. The proposed guest speakers generated excitement, with members keen on learning from experts in the field. The publications update highlighted the club’s commitment to producing high-quality content that reflects the diverse interests and voices within the club.

Feedback and Suggestions:

Members expressed their satisfaction with the club’s activities thus far and provided constructive feedback to enhance future initiatives. Some suggestions included diversifying the range of topics covered in workshops and exploring opportunities for cross-club collaborations.
