About the Session/event:
Community service is unpaid work performed by a person or group of people for the benefit and betterment of their community without any form of compensation.[1] Community service can be distinct from volunteering, since it is not always performed on a voluntary basis and may be compulsory. Although personal benefits may be realized, it may be performed for a variety of reasons including citizenship requirements, a substitution of criminal justice sanctions, requirements of a school or class, and requisites for the receipt of certain benefits.
A ‘tribal village’ is one where the Schedule Tribe population is more than 25 per cent. of the 1,17,064 tribal villages, only 3,453 have a primary health centre, 7,114 have a community health centre and 18,185 have a heath sub centre, while a total of 88,295 villages have no access to health care
In this regard NSS Unit- 2021-22, New Horizon College Marathalli conducted a Community Service Camp on 27th January 2022 Bandipur and Nagarhole villages’.
