Introduction:

ASMI, the Fashion Club of New Horizon College, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a highly anticipated event titled “Glow Up” – a Workshop on Make Up. The workshop aimed to provide a platform for students to learn and enhance their makeup skills under the guidance of an expert in the field.

The workshop garnered significant interest among students, with approximately 150 students actively taking part in the event. The diverse group of participants brought together individuals with varying levels of experience and interest in makeup artistry.

The workshop was led by a distinguished resource person, Ms. Rakshitha J, a prominent alumna of New Horizon College and an Makeover Stylist. With her wealth of knowledge and practical experience in the beauty industry, Ms. Rakshitha was the perfect choice to impart valuable insights and skills to the eager participants.

The “Glow Up” Workshop on Make Up was an engaging and informative event, offering participants a comprehensive learning experience in the realm of makeup. The workshop covered various aspects of makeup artistry, including:

• Skincare Preparation: The importance of prepping the skin before applying makeup was emphasized, with Ms. Rakshitha providing tips on cleansing, moisturizing, and priming.
• Foundation and Concealer Techniques: Participants were taught how to create a flawless base using foundation and concealer, matching different skin tones and types.
• Eye Makeup: Different eye makeup styles, such as smoky eyes, winged liner, and natural looks, were demonstrated. Techniques for enhancing eye shape and using eyeshadow were thoroughly explained.
• Contouring and Highlighting: Ms. Rakshitha demonstrated contouring and highlighting techniques to accentuate facial features and achieve a well-defined look.
• Lip Makeup: Participants learned how to choose the right lip colors and apply lipstick for various occasions.
• Hygiene and Tool Maintenance: Emphasis was placed on maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation of makeup tools to ensure skin health and safety.

The guidance provided by the expert resource person, Ms. Rakshitha J, proved invaluable in enhancing the participants’ understanding of makeup artistry. The event not only fostered creativity and self-expression but also instilled confidence in the participants as they learned the art of makeup application.
