Introduction
The Dance Club (Avinya) and Photography Club (Aakriti) of New Horizon College, Marathahalli, came together to host an exciting and innovative event, “Framed in Motion,” on October 17, 2024. This unique reel-making competition blended the vibrant energy of dance with the creative storytelling of photography and videography, challenging participants to capture the essence of movement in a visually compelling way. The initiative provided a platform for students to showcase their artistic talents, collaborative spirit, and creativity, making it memorable occasion for all involved.
The event “Framed in Motion,” organized by Avinya and Aakriti, was designed to encourage collaboration between dancers and videographers, fostering creativity and teamwork. Participants had to register in pairs, with one member acting as the model (performing artist) and the other as the videographer. The competition revolved around the concept of creating engaging short video reels that captured the art of motion in innovative and visually captivating ways.
Teams were tasked with conceptualizing their ideas, choreographing movements, and shooting creative sequences within a specified time frame. The competition tested their ability to think on their feet, work collaboratively under pressure, and bring their unique artistic visions to life. The entries were judged on parameters such as originality, technical excellence, storytelling, and aesthetic appeal. The event created a vibrant atmosphere on campus, with students enthusiastically participating and showcasing their diverse talents. It not only highlighted the dynamic synergy between dance and videography but also provided an opportunity for students to learn, experiment, and grow. The energy and enthusiasm displayed by the teams made “Framed in Motion” an unforgettable celebration of art and innovation.
