Faculty Induction Programme on Intellectual Property Rights for New Faculty
The FDP Committee held a Faculty Induction Programme on Intellectual Property Rights on 24th August 2026 at the Chanakya Seminar Hall, Amar Hemu Kalani Block, for newly joined BBA, B.Com and BCA faculty. Dr. Agalya, Head of the IPR Cell, explained what a patent is and the policy requirements behind it. Faculty then took part in a hands-on activity, using charts, colour pens, glue and scissors to design an innovative greeting card. The session went on to cover how to check whether an idea already exists using WIPO PATENTSCOPE, and the standard patent application format: title, objective, detailed description, claims and abstract. The interactive session helped faculty understand the practical requirements of filing a patent.
