B.Com Induction Programme – Student Clubs, Sports & Mentoring Session (29th July 2026)
The B.Com Induction Programme for first-year students was held on 29th July 2026 (8:50 AM–11:50 AM) at Chanakya Seminar Hall, New Horizon College, organised by the Department of Commerce. The programme had three parts:
- Session 1 (8:50–9:50 AM): Ms. Suchithra Devi Prasad and NHSAC students introduced the New Horizon Student Activity Centre and its various clubs (Fashion, Commerce, Outreach, Dance, Media, Eco, Adventure, Creativity, Alumni Association, Music, Drama, Literary, IT, Management, and Photography Club), encouraging students to participate based on their interests.
- Session 2 (9:50–10:50 AM): Mr. Siddalinga Murthy spoke on the importance of sports, highlighting physical, mental, and social benefits, and shared the college’s sporting achievements at University, State, and National levels.
- Class Mentor Interaction Session: Mentors Ms. Soumya P, Mr. Subhash Kumar K, and Ms. Nischitha BP guided students on college rules, mentor records, syllabus, exam patterns, and campus facilities.
The programme successfully oriented students to the college’s academic and co-curricular ecosystem, building confidence and a sense of belonging as they began their academic journey.
