Operation Smile
To provide the medical aid and necessary surgery to children and adults with Cleft lips and Palates the camp was conducted in Yashomati Hospital Marathahalli, Bangalore in association with Operation Smile organization. This medical mission bought a multidisciplinary team of medical and non-medical professionals across India who had operated many children from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Volunteers of New Horizon college have played significant role in the mission held in Bangalore.
The Medical camp was conducted from 6th May 2022 to 14th May 2022. 40 students volunteered from our college to render their service. The students were assigned the task of translating in order to help the doctors and non-medical volunteers to understand the needs of patients, admin and operations tasks were also done to assist patients with medical records and perform other activities.
The students helped the team of Operation Smile in conducting 84 successful surgeries by the end of the camp. The volunteers received certificates and they cherished the experience of serving the community.
