FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The FDP Committee of New Horizon College, Marathalli, held a session titled “Decoding and Navigating the Z-alpha Learners” on 26th September 2026 at the Chanakya Seminar Hall, Amar Hemu Kalani Block, for parents and faculty. Dr. Elizabeth Jasmine explained the traits of Z-alpha learners, such as comfort with digital technology, a preference for interactive learning, shorter attention spans and an expectation of personalised learning. She shared practical approaches including learner-centred and technology-enabled teaching, experiential learning, collaboration and timely feedback. She also stressed the value of an inclusive classroom. An interactive Q&A let participants discuss student engagement and digital learning habits. The session helped parents and faculty better understand today’s learners and adapt their approach to support them.
