Women Empowerment Cell Held on Mar 3, 2019
The Women Empowerment Cell of New Horizon College, Marathahalli, celebrated ‘Women’s Day’ on 7th of March, 2019 at the Chanakya Seminar Hall from 10 am onwards. Oscar award winning movie ‘Period.End of Sentence.’ was screened for all the girl students. ‘Period. End of Sentence.’ is a documentary short film directed by Rayka Zehtabchi about Indian women leading a quiet sexual revolution which won the 91st academy awards for Best Documentary. Students were overwhelmed with the screening and appreciated the initiative.
It was followed by a Guest Lecture by Dr.Krishna Pavani, Homeopathic physician at Dr. Chalapthi Memorial Trust, DRDO, Bangalore. She spoke in great detail about Women’s Wellness and heightened the awareness on ‘Cancer in Women’.
Ms. Sowmya J, the HOD of BBA Department, Ms.Greeshma Francis, the HOD of BCom and other faculty members graced the occasion. The event came to a close with the vote of thanks and presentation of memento to the Guest by Ms.Gnaneswari, Teacher Co-ordinator, Women Empowerment Cell, NHCM.
