International Educational Tour to France, Belgium, Germany and Netherlands

New Horizon College organized an international trip for its students from 24th to 30th January, 2019. Students from NHCM (BBA and BCA) and NHCE (civil and bio-technology) were a part of the tour and travelled to France, Belgium, Germany and Netherlands. The trip began with a visit to Frankfurt where students were taken on a city tour in the morning and visited the University of Frankfurt later in the day. The next day, they travelled to Brussels, visited the Concept Chocolate factory and learnt about the production of Belgium chocolates. This was followed by an orientation tour and they spent a good evening tasting the Belgium chocolates, waffles and shopping. They also travelled to Cologne, visiting Cologne Cathedral, museum and going for a guided city tour.

They travelled to Amsterdam where they visited the cheese factory and wooden shoe factory. Situated in a rural setting, Henri Willing Cheese farm stores offers a range of specialty cheeses and a visitor can also see the original cheese making tools on display. The wooden shoe factory offered the tourists an interesting demonstration of wooden shoe making and a large selection of wooden shoes can be admired. The next day started with Paris, the fashion capital of the world. They had an amazing river cruise experience on the Seine, and next to , the Eiffel Tower, one of the wonders of the modern world. They also had a guided city tour and a visited a perfume museum. Finally they got to enjoy a breathtakingly panoramic view of the beauty of Paris from the 2nd level of the Eiffel Tower.

The trip was, on the whole, a wonderful experience and provided exposed the students to the diversity that exists in different countries, their culture, cuisine, economy, commerce and industry.

Travelling gives perspective, helps the traveller to look at things with different attitude. Foreign travel contributes to one’s education. As a part of the academic curriculum feature the final year global stream students belonging to all the courses, BBA, BCom, and BCA were taken for an international educational tour from 25th-30th January 2018.

In order to get a first-hand information of the functioning of a factory in a foreign country, students were taken to Bremen in Germany for a factory visit to Mercedes Benz which is the world’s largest production factory wherein students could take a look at the different models of cars, and were taken on a guided tour of the plant which revealed how the vehicles are manufactured and what makes the brand so special. It provided an opportunity for the students to look behind the scenes at one of the most modern automotive factories in the world.

Following this, students were taken to Amsterdam to visit the cheese factory and wooden shoe factory – situated in a rural setting, Henri Willig Cheese farm stores offered a refined range of cheese specialties and also has the original cheese making tools on display. The wooden shoe factory offered the students an interesting demonstration of wooden shoe making and a large selection of wooden shoe could be witnessed.

Besides the industry visits, it was a great tour as one explored the beautiful places of different cultures, art and history, food and museums in Europe.
